BPAS Partner Conference Speaker Q&A: Paul Neveu

Learn a little bit more about Paul Neveu. He will be speaking at our 2014 BPAS Partner Conference!

Paul Neveu is Senior Vice President, Director of Sales and Marketing for BPAS. In this role, he directs our overall efforts to build partnerships with financial intermediaries and oversees our national team of wholesalers. Paul will be speaking at the BPAS Partner Conference.

1. How long have you worked with BPAS?

As of August 1st, I will have a nine year tenure with BPAS. However, I started working closely with BPAS as a recordkeeping partner in 1999, while I was a retirement wholesaler at Federated Investors and needed an additional solution for the Bank Trust channel. Over this 15 year span, I have seen BPAS grow from 20 employees to almost 250 today. It has been truly exciting to be a part of this growth.

2. What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

For me, the best part of the job is going on sales presentations – either with a prospective Trustee or Advisor partner, or when I participate in an onsite presentation for a large plan. I love interacting with people, hearing tough and insightful questions, and being asked to explain how BPAS would solve a client’s needs. This business is always changing, so you learn new things every day. I find the whole process of interacting with clients, and the unpredictable flow of live meetings to be my favorite parts of this job.

3. What are you looking forward to the most at the Partners Conference?

Mostly to have many of our partners in one location at the same time, where they can share insights and ideas. Also, giving our partners a better feel for BPAS , the depth of our people, and how we can help them grow their business. Of course, it will also be terrific to spend time interacting with partners in a more social setting.

4. What is the thing we should get from your talk at the Partner’s Conference?

This will not just be “my talk” – it will be a sharing of insights and best practices from actual sales presentations I have attended with our partners over the years. Things I have seen, learned or witnessed in working with all of you. I will call on audience members to elaborate on certain points or provide added perspective. I hope you walk away with a feeling of being energized. The retirement plan sales process involves so many things – from technical to quantitative to interpersonal. It is really a fascinating process, and I hope this talk will give you new insights as you head home.
