6 Reasons to Attend the 2016 BPAS Partner Conference

6 Reasons to attend the 2016 BPAS Partner Conference in Philadelphia June 6 – 8, 2016.

May 31, 2016

2016 BPAS Partner ConferenceAt BPAS, we’re busy getting ready for our third annual partner conference. It will be held on June 6, 7, and 8, 2016, at the Hilton at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The event is drawing record attendance by financial partners from across the nation and is packed with keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities.

Are you planning to attend, but not sure what to expect? Here are six reasons why you’ll be glad you didn’t miss this year’s conference.

1. A Chance to Network

Do you try to explain what you do to friends and family members, only to be greeted with a vague smile and a nod? From June 6 to June 8, you’ll be among colleagues who speak your language. Here is your opportunity to rub elbows with experts and mingle with your peers. With 200 financial partners getting ready to attend this year’s conference, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to talk and network.

2. Learn from the Best

We pride ourselves on bringing the best and brightest guest speakers in the industry to our partner conferences. In addition to our own leadership team, we will be featuring the following addresses by some of the leading experts in the business.

  • Chasing Excellence – The Future of DC Plans, with guest speaker Ken Haman, Managing Director of the AB Institute.
  • Making Sense of Capital Preservation for Defined Contribution Plans, with guest speaker Erik Karpinski, CFA, CPA, Client Portfolio Manager, Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
  • Market Insights, with guest speaker Ralph Acampora, Director of Technical Analysis Studies, New York Institute of Finance.
  • Cracking the Code on Financial Wellness: How to Use New Technology to Build Your Retirement Business, with guest speaker Mark Singer, CFP®, AIF®, and author.

3. Stay Informed about Regulations

The regulatory landscape is changing, and you need to know how these changes will affect your business. That’s why we’ve invited legal experts Steve Saxon, Chair, Groom Law Firm, and Bradford Campbell, Counsel, Drinker, Biddle, & Reath, LLP. They’ll each be sharing insights on how to understand and stay ahead of regulatory issues.

4. Special Activities

All work and no play makes for a dull conference. We plan to keep busy with speeches and panels, but we also want to take advantage of the opportunity to kick back and relax.

Cigar Event – You probably didn’t know it, but our CEO Barry Kublin is quite the cigar aficionado. He’ll be hosting a special event where fellow enthusiasts can kick back and light up in style.

Get a Great Headshot – Looking for that perfect photo for your LinkedIn profile? We’ll have a professional headshot photographer on site who can take the perfect picture.

Dinner and Reception – We’ll be hosting a special dinner and reception on Monday, June 6. The food will be fantastic and the company even better.

5. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

We know you’ll probably want to stay inside and take advantage of everything that BPAS has to offer. But if you decide to wander around between sessions, you couldn’t be in a better location. Philadelphia is a very walkable city, and the conference hotel puts you less than a mile away from Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, and The National Constitution Center. You’re also just a short cab ride away from the Philadelphia Museum (home of the famous “Rocky Steps”), the Franklin Institute, and plenty of great bars, restaurants, and shopping.

6. Don’t Take Our Word for It

We’ve created a conference to be proud of; but, don’t take our word for it. Here are just a few quotes from attendees of last year’s conference:

I have been to many conferences over my 20 years in the business and few have come close to the content and expertise that BPAS organized at the conference on retirement plans. – Neal R., RIA based in Portland, Maine

The professionalism of the BPAS staff, clients, and partners attending the meetings was among the best at any conference I’ve attended. – Alice W., RIA based in Missouri

I truly enjoyed learning alongside such a blend of industry professionals, both new to the business and with decades under their belt. Fantastic! – Laura P., RIA based in central New York

The BPAS Annual Partner Conference is a national event conducted by BPAS for the benefit of our financial intermediary partners.

This three-day conference will cover a wide range of topics that are of great interest to advisors and trustees in the retirement plan business, including technical and legislative updates; updates on fiduciary and investment topics; breakout sessions covering sales, marketing, participant education, departmental profitability, and client servicing; panel discussions on emerging issues; updates on website and product enhancements underway at BPAS; and more.

There are still a few spots open. Don’t want to miss out? Register today.

We’ll see you in Philly!
